|09:43 pm - St. Jude's Hospital|
Ariadne makes her way down the hospital hall, carrying a paper cup containing a pair of capsules.
Hearing an unfamiliar voice inside Room 172, she pauses in the doorway, regarding her patient and his visitor.
"Hi," she says with a smile. "Sorry to interrupt, but it's time for his medicine."
Mortal eyes see a woman in her twenties with a Mediterranean complexion and warm brown eyes, her black hair worn in a knot at the crown of her head. She's wearing a crisp white uniform and running shoes, a stethescope slung around her shoulders.
Fae eyes see a vivacious satyr, ivory-colored horns poking up through her raven-black hair. Her goat legs are covered with a pelt of silky black waves from her waist to her dainty black hooves. She's wearing a short dress of Chinese brocade, cut to enhance her curves, but leaving her legs free for easy movement.
Current Mood: working
Aaron watches as Aidan takes the cup. As nothing else bad happens he starts to relax, and his attention diverts from Aidan to the nurse. He definaly seems interested in her, and if she looks his way he'll give her another smile.
Accepting the water from Aaron with murmured thanks, Aidan takes the pills and washes them down with a swallow of water. "So," he says, giving the pretty satyr a smile, "How about dinner?"
She pauses in the act of taking his pulse and respiration. "The aide should be bringing something around six," she says automatically. "Didn't they bring you a menu this morning?"
She doesn't miss the smile from Aaron, and returns it with one of her own. Cute. Actually, both of them are definitely cute. Of course, with my luck, they're probably a couple, and not interested in women.
Aidan chuckles, giving her a wink. "Actually, I meant after I'm out of here." A grin. "Call it a thank you."
Ariadne looks over at Aaron. Is he serious? that look seems to say.
Aaron grins at her. "Well, he did beat me to asking. And..." He gives Aidan a fond glance. "...I'm okay with it. Though..." He looks at from Ariadne to Aidan. "If the two of you wouldn't mind, maybe we could all go out sometime."
Ariadne finishes her exam and gives Aaron a wink. "I'd like that," she says.
Aidan only half-hears the conversation between Aaron and the nurse. Despite his best efforts, sleep is pulling him into an insistent embrace. The last thing he feels before he falls into sleep is someone - the satyr nurse, perhaps? - adjusting the bedclothes, and then he's out.
Ariadne looks down at her sleeping patient and then at Aaron. "Come on," she says softly. "He needs his rest." She leads the way out of the room on soft feet.
Once outside, she asks, "So, how about we try for two out of three?" She winks.
Aaron gives her a smile. "Sure. Though this is actually breakfast for me," he replies with a wink. "So are you off any time soon, or are we going for the hospital cafeteria?"
"The cafeteria," she returns. "They're actually not that bad. And this is close enough to my dinner break, even if I'm on the floor until later tonight."
She leads the way to the hospital cafeteria - the large room is mostly institutional off-white, though there's been a few attempts to lighten it up with some pastel trim on the baseboards. There's a counter with various sandwiches and the like set out, with trays at one end and a cash register at the other. Several round tables with molded plastic chairs sit at the center of the room.
She picks out a tuna fish sandwich and a rather sad-looking apple, along with a bottle of juice. After waiting for Aaron to choose something, she pays for her meal and makes her way to an empty table.
Aaron follows Ariadne to the hospital cafeteria. He picks out a ham sandwich, an orange and a pint of chocolate skim milk. After he pays for his meal he joins Ariadne at the table she's picked out.
As Aaron opens his milk he asks, "So how did you get into nursing?"
